National Gear and Piston utilizes a top of the line Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning system to restore each DPF cell thoroughly. Each cell of the DPF is addressed from both ends, ensuring a reliable filter cleaning every time. Our system has been approved by a multitude of O.E.M. engine manufacturers, including Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Volvo and Mack (just to name a few).
- DPF’s require regular cleaning with time, depending on vehicular use and manufacturer recommendations.
- Soot and ash, left to sit in a filter, can collect over time and severely damage and/or destroy a DPF entirely, resulting in significantly higher cleaning costs or replacement prices of $3,000 or more.
- Our shop can handle DPF’s for all makes and models of trucks, heavy equipment and buses.
THE PROCESS
- TESTING: Visual inspection for filter damage followed by a flow test and comparison to manufacturer baseline data ranges.
- BLOWING (LEVEL 1): Utilizes a pneumatic process to blow air through the filter, removing soot and ash, after which the filter is tested again.
- BAKING (LEVEL 2): If/When filters are too heavily soiled and in need of further recovery, they are put through a thermal cleaning process, baked until the final flow test brings the filter within the manufacturer’s recovery range. Process is then reviewed, recorded, and the testing/ re-testing results are analyzed to ensure a thorough job from start to finish.
